Termux Download: Install latest version of Termux

Hey Guys 🙋‍♂️, So most of you guys have installed termux from play store and that's the reason you get error of Termux 403 Error or Termux Repository under maintenance error. I have written a post about how to solve termux repo issue and yet some of you guys are having issues. In this post I am going to tell you the reason why you guys are facing this error as I will give a permanent solution to all the problems releted to termux apk.

This installation process is the official one, and it is always going to give you a working and stable version of termux, that you can use without any repo changes. since we are downloading the apk from the f-droid site, where the termux apk is updated only when it's stable. Although if you really want to become a beta tester and you can also use the termux GitHub version. 

Why you are seeing Termux Repository under maintenance error?

The creator of termux has written a Reddit post saying Termux and its plugins are no longer updated on Google Play Store. The reason behind that is there is some issued with android 10 and Google policy issue. From now on, It is highly recommended to not install Termux apk from Play Store anymore. There are plans for unpublishing the Termux app and all its plugins on Play Store so that new termux users should not install it from playstore. Also, any kind of updates and features won't be added to termux so that users stop using the playstore version of the termux apk. 

Now only option to download termux is either F-droid Version or GitHub. It is really easy to install termux apk from F-droid. so in this post i am going to show you how you can install latest version of termux apk from F-Droid with just few clicks.

How to install the latest version of Termux ?

Step1 [ Uninstall OLD Version of Termux ]:

First, You need to uninstall the Termux applications that you have installed from play store as well as you need to uninstall the plugins too. So Go inside your app manager and uninstall any application that  is related to termux. 

If you don't do this, then you most probably will see "app not installed error" while installing the F-Droid version of termux.

Step2 [ Visit F-Droid site ]:

Now just go to F-Droid Website with the Button given Below. The below button will you to F-Droid termux download page, where you just have to select the latest version.

Step3 [ Download Termux apk ]:

Just scroll the page till you see download F-droid button, Below that you will see the latest version of termux, you can also look for suggested version, just click on the Download APK Button and the termux apk download will start.

Install this latest termux APK and that's it, it will work perfectly. If you see "app not installed error" then make sure you follow the step 1 properly. Just type pkg update or any command you want to check if everything is working or not.
